Concept Rationale: Lodge & Resort brand that conveys wilderness, comfort, and elegance with historic charm.
The moodboard and overall design was influenced by resort summer camp iconography and historic hotel branding. The monochromatic use of blue helps lower the level of visual clutter in the high detail illustrations.
The Alise is a year round resort where guests come for the nature aspect. Nature-loving families looking for a safe and engaging environment where children can explore the wonders of the outdoors, and couples in search of an escape. A more serious aesthetic was chosen as opposed to a more playful summer camp for the price point and number of amenities the resort provides. Amenities such a wellness centre- cold plunge tubs, steam room, sauna, indoor and outdoor silent areas for yoga and meditation, kayak and watercraft rentals, fishing excursions, and more.
The illustrations were composited from photography and vintage ephemera from several sources, Creative Commons, Flickr Creative Commons, and the Library of Congress. A unifying level of texture and grit allowed these raw images to be composited together for use across the Alise brand.
A Guest Activity Book was created consisting of 22 pages and includes on and off-site features of the resort. A printed version of the book can be found in every room. QR codes are present on the printed material where applicable that allow guests to quickly take the information online, such as to the rental portal for watercrafts, or scheduling wellness centre spa treatments.
The feature fine dining restaurant in the Alise is called Serenity Cove. This is primarily a seafood restaurant that boasts a comprehensive liquor and wine list.
The Lounge is a 24/7 spot where guests can have bar-fare as opposed to the fine dining experience of Serenity Cove. This is also the primary location for breakfast.
The Counter is a baked goods, snack and drink bar located nearby the lounge for quick takeaway.
Additional collateral for the resort such as business cards, coat check tags and dry-cleaning request sheet. Action items that are primarily staff facing are coloured red for ease of use.
